I Got Me a New CAMERA!

Sony NEX-5 Soooo excited!  I was thinking my next camera would be a DSLR, but I am so thrilled with my new purchase!

A couple of years ago, for my birthday (and before a trip to Europe), My Boyfriend bought me a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20 “point and shoot” camera.  I have been so pleased with the quality of photos that have come from that little camera.  However, it has some limitations, and I wanted a new one, but didn’t know if I wanted to carry around a big luggy camera because I love that I can throw that one into my purse at will.

So, the other day (for my birthday, and again because I will be going to Europe with My Boyfriend as a tug-along on a business trip), My Boyfriend bought me ANOTHER SONY “hybrid” — at least that’s what I call it.  It is the Sony Alpha NEX 5

Sony NEX 5 with E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 Zoom Lens Shortly after buying it, I went ahead and bought a zoom lens for it.  After a lot of research, I just settled on the cheaper lens — Sony E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 Lens (as opposed to the more expensive Sony Alpha SEL18200 E-mount 18-200mm F3.5-6.3).  The less expensive lens does just what I need and had a full optical zoom, which my other Sony did not.  I think it looks pretty weird with a teeny little camera and a bit fat giant lens.  But that’s the beauty of it.  Yes.

So, you’ve got to see these pictures.  One of my frustrations with the other camera was the color of the reds.  I could not for the life of me capture reds correctly — especially with my flowers.  I would try to adjust the color, settings, etc., but could never produce a nice looking photo of a red flower.  Imagine my excitement when this NEW camera gives me exactly what I need — with all the clarity and detail I like to have brought out in each of my photos of my tropical garden.  Here is the comparison of the Sony DSC-H20 and the Sony NEX-5:

I am thrilled with the quality that this little camera gives out.  Woo hoo!  I will still be using my DSC, because it is such a great little point and shoot camera (many of the photos under Clicky Chickyrama were taken with this camera).  But, from here on out, I will be utilizing my new NEX-5.Here is another view of the camera:  Sony NEX-5 from side If you like what you see, check it out at Amazon!;
